Tonmeister Gramophone nominations

This year, an amazing 19 albums that Tonmeisters had worked on were nominated for Gramophone awards. These nominations cover almost the whole range of categories: every category apart from one had an album partly created by a Surrey Tonmeister. For the Best Choral award, four out of the six nominations were either recorded or edited by Tonmeister graduates.

Particular highlights in the nominations include 1987 graduate Philip Hobbs, who had four recordings nominated for awards. For some of these he was also assisted by recent graduate Robert Cammidge. As chief classical producer & engineer with Linn Records, Philip has won many awards over the years, as well as designing many Linn loudspeakers.

Also included in the nominations was David Hinitt, whose recordings have regularly won Gramophone awards in the last few years. This year his recordings were nominated for three awards.
